At a young age Tony began attending races at Winchester Speedway watching some of the greatest driver’s battle. That fueled his desire to be in a racecar. Then, learning of his own racing history, from his grandparents about the races his grandfather had won at local stock car racing events in the nineteen fifties. Starting in Quarter Midgets at the age of nine, and over the next six years of racing in that division. He collected several top fives in Indiana State Championship series. Along with scoring several series top fives at Kokomo Quarter Midget Club. In the 1998 dirt grand nations at the Terre Haute Action Track he scored a fifth place in the A-Main and being the only Mini-Indy and Kokomo driver to qualify into the A-Main. This enabled him to pick up a long lasting nickname Tony “A” Main. He was then able to move into the 600cc Modified Midget ranks. Now with six years experience in the 600’s he has set his eyes on future dreams. With five feature wins in 600’s at Midwestern tracks including Bakersfield Speedway in Linton, Indiana, Miami County Speedway in Peru, Indiana, Stateline Speedway in Edon, Ohio, and Jackson Speedway in Jackson, Michigan. The past two seasons’ having the opportunity to race in the fast growing Ford Focus series. After, struggling thru some of the learning curve to returning to pavement racing. Also, in returning a car to the track that had set for some time. He had a successful year finishing in the 13th position in the Midwest series points and 20th in the inaugural season for the nation points. After the 06’ season he has improved upon that more. Picking up third in USAC Midwest Dirt Series points with two wins, of the four races completed. Also, picking up a win with the Illini Racing Series. On the pavement grabbing several top 10 finishes and with a seventh in Midwest Pavement Series points made strong gains in being competitive on the asphalt.
Currently working as an engineering tech. Tony graduated Purdue in December with an
associates degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology.
